Acting Superintendent
Michael Crabtree, a native of Canyon, Texas, graduated from Canyon High School before pursuing his higher education at Houston Baptist University. There, he earned his bachelor's degree while also playing collegiate baseball. Following his graduation, Michael began his educational career in Texas as a special education teacher and coach, working with both baseball and football teams.
In August 2015, Michael moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico, where he joined Alamogordo High School as the head baseball coach and special education teacher. Shortly after, he completed his master's degree and received his administrator’s license. With 12 years of experience in teaching and coaching in both Texas and New Mexico, Michael transitioned into administration in August 2019, serving in various roles including administrator intern, elementary school principal, and special education coordinator.
In January 2024, Michael was appointed Acting Superintendent of Alamogordo Public Schools. He is deeply honored to serve in this capacity and is dedicated to fostering success within the district and the community.
Michael is happily married and the proud father of two daughters, both of whom attend Alamogordo Public Schools. His wife is a local small business owner, and together, they are fully invested in the growth and well-being of their community.
